- System Engineering Vs Software Engineering
From my experience working as a co-op at a defense contractor, Systems Engineering is not well applied to software development, as in they have very little in common. As a software developer there, the main interface to Systems Engineering is the project schedule. Systems engineering encompasses all that must be done by all technical members. Software engineers receive a tasking and an allocation of requirements and constraints, such as size, time, performance, documentation etc. From systems engineers. Software engineers might also determine what development methodology to use after documenting software requirements. Systems engineers do some of the same work as software engineers, also developing software components; however, systems engineering involves specifying, maintaining, supporting, and maintaining technical infrastructure. But systems engineering also involves specifying, building, maintaining and supporting technical infrastructure.

Software Engineering Vs Information Syste…
Hi everyone, i will finish my degree in computer engineering next week and I have two different offers for system engineer position and software engineering position. I had one year experience in software development from my internship and i like my work a lot. The System Engineering offer will give a little more money and good tuition reimbursement while Software developer position will give me a little less money. For Software engineer position, i will work in the IT Department for a big non-technical company. For System engineer position, i will work in the core department for a big networking company. I know if i pick the System Engineering position, i will work for 2-3 year to finish my Master Degree in Computer Engineering and then look for a better opportunity in software development. Any advices will help me a lot.
